James Blake @ Nation of Shopkeepers (Preview)

Posted on November 16, 2010

Once in a while, you see something promoted through various social networking sites which you quickly notice all of your coolest friends are going to.

James Blake has been tipped as a massively influential artist for the year ahead, inspiring an underground generation of bass and future garage/dubstep producers. His recent dip into cutesy, atmospheric vocals on ‘Limit To Your Love’ (a Feist cover) has set the internet alight; poking “in the know” Americans sharply in their perceptions of British music.

Nation of Shopkeepers, a venue renowned for capturing talent on the cusp of greatness, has pinned the man down for 3rd December. Leeds, and its people, have once again recognised talent and potential and given the people playing catch up (such as myself) that opportunity to take in a raw and intimate experience of something new. Expect chopped samples, the deepest of warm bass and charged electronica to melt your facial features.

You’ll be thankful you have such cool friends.
