Performance : Catchy Without Being Meaningless

Posted on September 22, 2010

As soon as the intro-electronica is thankfully cut out by some driving guitar and snare; Perfomance seem like they mean business.

‘The Unconsoled’ is catchy without being meaningless. It feels like they write hooks for fun, and the song’s content gets more interesting with every listen. They’ve struck a fantastic sonic balance, marrying elements together well to develop a smooth sound that suits almost everyone.

I wouldn’t go as far as to say it’s inoffensive, but it’s undeniably radio friendly. The lyrics are personal and mentally adhesive. Which will hopefully carry them into more credible realms, securing a fan base that will serve them well on tour.
