The Klaxons: More Of The Same?

Posted on July 26, 2010

With ‘Echoes’ of the sound that drove them into adolescent idolatry a few years ago, The Klaxons return with an only slightly edgier single.

It’s been a fair while, which has posed some questions about how the group would once again poise their attack (as with Klaxons it often feels like an attack), and I suppose poise is an apt term; the comeback single feels controlled, well constructed and true to previous form with heavy emphasis on a messy, live sound driven by group vocals and soft harmonies.

However, until about three-quarters of the way through, they seem to not have grown much- times have changed, have they kept up? Then, a glorious bridge to the final chorus gives an indication that they have some aces up their sleeve, therefore increasing our anticipation of further material.
